ਸਪਨ ਮਨਚੰਦਾ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ ’ਚ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਅੱਠ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਹੈ। ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੁੱਢਲੇ ਦੌਰ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਹਾਰਡ ਖ਼ਬਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਲੋਚਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਉਭਰ ਕੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਈ ਹੈ। ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਫ਼ਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਸਪਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਫ਼ਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਤੋਂ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰ ‘ਦੈਨਿਕ ਜਾਗਰਣ’ (2008) ਤੋਂ ਬਤੌਰ ਸਿਟੀ ਜਰਨਲਿਸਟ ਕੀਤੀ। ਉਹ ਫ਼ਰੀਦਕੋਟ ਤੋਂ ‘ਦੇਸ ਸੇਵਕ’ ਅਤੇ ‘ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਟਾਈਮਜ਼’ ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰ ਦੇ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਰਿਪੋਰਟਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਨਿਭਾ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ। ਸਪਨ ‘ਦੇਸ ਸੇਵਕ’ ਅਤੇ ‘ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਸਪੋਕਸਮੈਨ’ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਤੌਰ ਮੈਗਜ਼ੀਨ ਸੰਪਾਦਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਬ ਅਡੀਟਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ। ਪਿਛਲੇ 8 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ‘ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਟ੍ਰਿਬਿਊਨ’, ‘ਅਜੀਤ’, ‘ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਜਗਬਾਣੀ’, ‘ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਜਾਗਰਣ’ ਸਮੇਤ ਦੇਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਨਾਮੀ ਅਖ਼ਬਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਸਾਲਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਲਿਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਪਿਛਲੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲ” ਤੋਂ ਉਹ ‘ਡੇਅ ਐਂਡ ਨਾਈਟ’ ਨਿਊਜ਼ ਚੈਨਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਤੌਰ ਐਸੋਸੀਏਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਡਿਊਸਰ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਤੋਂ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਡਿਗਰੀ (Mass Communication) ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਇਹ ਨੌਜਵਾਨ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਮਨੋਰੰਜਨ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਟੈਲੀਫ਼ੋਨ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਕੇ ਕੌਮੀ ਪੱਧਰ ’ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਮਹੀਨੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੀ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਪਾਰਲੀਮੈਂਟ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ ਦੀ ਜਗਤ ਦੀ ਉਘੀ ਅਦਾਕਾਰਾ ਕਿਰਨ ਖ਼ੇਰ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਇੰਡਸਟਰੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਸ਼ਖ਼ਸੀਅਤਾਂ”ਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ’ਚ ਰਿਲੀਜ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਮੀਡੀਆ ਜਗਤ ’ਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਨਾਂ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਗੂੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸਪਨ ਮਨਚੰਦਾ ਚੈਨਲ ਦੀ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਫ਼ਿਲਮ” ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਡਾਟਾਬੇਸ ਵੈਬਸਾਈਟ ‘ਡਬਲੂ ਡਬਲੂ ਡਾਟ ਪੌਲੀਵੇਟ ਡਾਟ ਕਾਮ’ ਵੀ ਚਲਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
